Super Recaps: Gotham (Episode 5)

G0

Once again we find ourselves with another episode of Captain Boring’s Adventures in Crime City.  So the last episode was a bit of a disappointment when compared to previous episodes which have steadily increased in quality.  So was episode four the beginning of the end for this series having any hope of quality, or will this episode make up for what we saw last time?  There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to keep on reading!!

The episode begins with Bruce who is in desperate need of a hobby.

“Yes!  All I need is some red string and that’ll PROVE that the CIA shot Tupac!”

Gotham has been on a steady rise since it’s started, but it’s frankly taking way too long to get to what I’d consider “good” instead of “passable” or “mediocre.”  Will episode 4 be the one to ramp up the quality so that I can actually enjoy this show instead of just waiting for Penguin to show up?  Yeah… I doubt it too.  Still, there’s only one way to find out and that’s to keep on reading!!

The episode begins where the last one left off, with Gordon just about to crap his pants.  At least I think he is.  Gordon’s acting is just as non-expressive as ever, so it’s hard to tell.

“I’m so surprised right now.”

Super Recaps: Sailor Moon Crystal (Episode 10)

Another two weeks, another episode of Sailor Moon Crystal!  It’s been rough for the last few episodes, but the last one ended on such a high note that I couldn’t wait to see this one!  Does this one continue to push the series in a positive direction, or will it fall back on old habits that have made the show less enjoyable at times?  There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to keep on reading!!

The episode begins just as the last one ended where Luna is proposing a trip to the moon.  They can’t go until the full moon though, so the gang is preparing for their trip to outer space.

Don’t try to make sense of this.  It’s only going to confuse the audience.

Super Recaps: Gotham (Episode 2)

We’re back with another recap of Gotham!  I wasn’t a big fan of the pilot, mostly because it was never clear what kind of show it wanted to be.  Did it want to be a comic book show, or a cop drama?  It’s not even like it was trying to be a mix of the two, rather it kept flipping back and forth in a way that made the tone incomprehensible and just ended up sapping almost any enjoyment I could get from it.  That, and the guy playing Gordon acts like a giant piece of Bologna.  All that said, can the show improve upon the pilot?  Let’s find out!!

Super Recaps: Sailor Moon Crystal (Episode 9)

We once again find ourselves with a new episode of Sailor Moon Crystal!  I’ve been kind of down on the most recent episodes, but always still look forward to this show in the hopes that it’ll turn itself around.  Do the Scouts finally have a chance to breath and develop beyond their initial episode, or are we gonna keep barreling right along through the Moon Kingdom mythology instead of giving me a reason to care about any of it?  Let’s find out!

The episode begins where the last one left off, i.e. with Tuxedo Mask taking in a face full of dark magic at point blank range.

Good thing that such a horrible attack left his face completely unblemished.

Living on Netflix: Top 5 Movies to Stream for Halloween

Most of this month, I’ve been pretty damn negative as I worked through the dregs of what Netflix has to offer in terms of horror.  Well… that’s actually not true.  Trust me, Netflix has MUCH worse stuff out there than lousy video game adaptations or embarrassing efforts made by once talented film makers.  Either way, I want to end this on a happy note and give you five awesome horror films to watch this Halloween.  These are listed alphabetically because I have no interest in ranking them.  They’re ALL worth watching!

Living on Netflix: Madhouse

That’s it! I’m SICK of all these crappy modern movies that try to call themselves horror! Even the great filmmakers like Argento can’t make anything worth a damn in today’s world. This time, I’m looking for something OLD! How old? Most of it’s cast better be fucking dead by now if I’m gonna sit through it! So let’s see… a movie starring Vincent Price AND Peter Cushing!? HELL YEAH!! Today we’re gonna take a look at film from 1974 called Madhouse. Is it a lost gem from the golden age of horror, or is it a well forget obscurity that both those great men wished everyone would ignore? There’s only one way to find out and that’s to keep on reading!!

Living on Netflix: Dario Argento’s Dracula 3D

AD0

You know what?  ENOUGH with these lousy horror films by no name directors!  I’m tired of this new-fangled independent crap, or these massively overproduced snore fests!  Give me a movie made by a director who KNOWS what the hell he’s doing!!  What’s that?  Dario Argento made a Dracula film a few years ago?  Well what the hell are we waiting for!?  With a director THAT good, it has to be amazing… right?  I mean, I guess it COULD be a piece of crap by an aging film maker who’s still trying to hack it long after his creative spark has dissipated, but that’s not even a REMOTE possibility… right?  Well there’s only one way for you to find out which one it is, and that’s to keep on reading!!

Super Recaps: Sailor Moon Crystal (Episode 8)

We once again find ourselves with a brand new episode of Sailor Moon Crystal!  Will Sailor V finally become a member of the team!?  Will Usagi learn that she can still throw a punch if someone grabs one of her arms?  WILL LUNA STILL HIDE STUFF FROM THE SCOUTS FOR NO REASON!?  Let’s find out!!

The episode begins where the last one left off, namely with Sailor V about to kick some Dark Kingdom white boy ass!  Everyone is shocked to see her pop up including Beryl who’s watching the whole thing go down on her Wicked Witch of the West Crystal Ball (Limited Edition of course).

Uh… seriously?  I mean, there are already four of them.  Is it SO hard to believe the fifth one would show up at some point?
