Super Recaps: Yuri Kuma Arashi (Episode 4)

We’re back with another episode of the Lesbian Bear Soap Opera Extravaganza!  The last episode ended on a really high note with Kureha finally standing up to the bear menace and landing a decisive blow against one of her enemies!  Needless to say that this episode has a lot to live up to after such a great ending.  Does the show continue to impress, or will it fall back on old tricks that always kept me at arms length?  Let’s find out!!

The episode begins with a bit of back story for Lulu.  Right off the bat, this episode is headed in the right direction because the one thing I’ve been begging for this show to do is flesh out the world and the characters we follow.  That said however, it still doesn’t quite make sense.

What, ANOTHER bullshit trial!?

Super Recaps: Sailor Moon Crystal (Episode 16)

Has it been a fortnight already?  Well we find ourselves with yet another episode of Sailor Moon Crystal!!  Will the show continue its upward swing from the last episode, or will reality come crashing down once again to remind us that we’re watching a rushed and under budgeted remake that doesn’t understand why COPYING THE MANGA EXACTLY TO A TV SHOW ISN’T A GOOD IDEA!!  We can only hope for the former.  Let’s get started!!

The episode begins with a recap of Sailor Mars getting kidnapped by the big bads of this story arc.  Sailor Moon is clearly upset but notices that Chibi-Usa is standing off to the side.  Usagi confronts the brat and demands to know what’s going on!

“ADMIT IT!  You’re really an undercover ISIS agent!  TELL ME WHERE THE NUKES ARE!!”

Living on Netflix: I, Frankenstein

IF0

This 2014 film based on a graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux (who also wrote all the Underworld movies), somehow take the Frankenstein monster and has him fighting legions of demons.  Well you can’t say that’s not one of hell of premise!  I’m actually for wacky premises like this with characters you’d never expect.  Hell, it’s not like Universal was above putting it’s own monsters in crazy and outlandish situations to make a quick buck!  They’re the guys who practically invented the idea of cross over movies!  All that said, the lukewarm buzz around this film when it was released doesn’t give me a whole lot of hope, but you never know with something like this.  Is the movie a fun and cheesy romp, or is it just as bad as every says it is?  Let’s find out!!
