Super Recaps: Yuri Kuma Arashi (Episode 7)

We’re back with another episode of Three’s Company 2015!  Will Kureha and the two bears finally start to get along?  Will Ginko’s heroic gesture be enough to win over Kureha’s heart?  After the explosive finale of the last episode, this one has a lot of clean up to do to make sure that what happened last time actually has some impact further down the road.  Does the show continue to move forward, or will it lose itself again now that the big midseason event has passed?  Let’s find out!!

The episode begins with a flashback to when Kureha’s mother was still alive and she seems to be writing the ending to the book she didn’t finish.  Spoiler alert: The two broke the mirror, made their promise kiss, and lived happily ever after.  Kureha asks her mother what the new story is about and she tells the young child that it’s about her adventures with the friend that she made.

“You know!  That bear that you found on that battlefield!  What were you doing there anyway?”

Super Recaps: Yuri Kuma Arashi (Episode 6)

We’re at the halfway point of everyone’s favorite gay horror romance with bears!  There were a lot of revelations in the last episode that set up some huge expectations for this one.  Will we get a satisfying conclusion to this story arc, or will it all just fizzle out in a hodgepodge of mixed metaphors and obtuse symbolism?  Let’s find out!!

The episode begins where the last one left off.  Wait, how did that one end?

“OH SHIT!!  You alright?”     “NO LULU!!  I’M NOT ALRIGHT!!!”

Super Recaps: Yuri Kuma Arashi (Episode 5)

We’re back with another episode of everyone’s favorite series about stalker bears!  When we last left off, Lulu’s backstory was explained and they were trying to get ever closer to our hero Kureha!  Now the last one ended on a pretty good note with the solid storytelling and the surprise twist at the end of the episode that Lulu has Kureha’s mother’s necklace.  All good stuff, but that puts a whole of pressure on this episode to not only live up to the quality of the last one but to expand on what was revealed before!  Was the last episode a sign that the rest of the series will be headed in a similar direction, or is it back to business as usual for this neigh impenetrable show about lesbian bears?  Let’s find out!!

The episode begins with a look back to when Kureha’s mother was still alive.  She’s taking a picture with her daughter as well as someone else!  Bear Shock!!

I totally called it last episode!  BOO YAH!!

Super Recaps: Yuri Kuma Arashi (Episode 4)

We’re back with another episode of the Lesbian Bear Soap Opera Extravaganza!  The last episode ended on a really high note with Kureha finally standing up to the bear menace and landing a decisive blow against one of her enemies!  Needless to say that this episode has a lot to live up to after such a great ending.  Does the show continue to impress, or will it fall back on old tricks that always kept me at arm’s length?  Let’s find out!!

The episode begins with a bit of back story for Lulu.  Right off the bat, this episode is headed in the right direction because the one thing I’ve been begging for this show to do is flesh out the world and the characters we follow.  That said however, it still doesn’t quite make sense.

What, ANOTHER bullshit trial!?
What, ANOTHER nonsense trial!?

Super Recaps: Yuri Kuma Arashi (Episode 3)

We’re back with another episode of Yuri Kuma Arashi, the number one show for those who like high school lesbians being eaten by adorable bears!  The last episode ended with a damn fine twist that this one will hopefully build upon to give us something amazing!  Do they succeed at making the most of this revelation, or do they end up squandering the potential that it had to really flesh out this series!?  There’s only one way to find out and that’s to keep on reading!!  The episode begins with a very confusing bit of narration.

What the hell?  Is Gollum writing this shit?

Super Recaps: Yuri Kuma Arashi (Episode 2)

We’re back with another episode of everyone’s favorite lesbian furry romance horror adventure!!  While I wasn’t overwhelmingly happy with the first episode, I definitely saw enough potential to stay excited about what the series has to offer!  Will episode two improve on the first, or is this show going to be one big downward spiral?  There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to keep on reading!!

The episode begins at the funeral of Sumika who has been murdered by Lulu and Ginko, the two transfer students who are actually bears in disguise.  The eulogy is being delivered by the class president Mitsuko, who’s aware that the new kids are the murderers, but doesn’t seem to have found time to discuss this with anyone.  Hell, the bears crash the funeral and Mitsuko doesn’t seem compelled to rat them out for some reason.

“Nothing!  It’s not like I just saw the murderers walk in!  EVERYTHING IS FINE!!!”

Super Recaps: Yuri Kuma Arashi (Episode 1)

So where the hell did THIS come from?  Seriously.  I hadn’t heard ANYTHING about this show until about two weeks ago, and since then it’s just exploded!  Were people really aching for a story about gay bears that had absolutely NO hairy men in it!?  Still though, the show comes from Silver Link who has had some big hits in the past (Watamote) and has even done some stuff I liked (Dusk Maiden of Amnesia), so maybe I’m the only one who’s surprised that people are talking about this.  So is the series worth talking about outside of it’s weird as hell premise?  Well, we’re about to find out!!

The episode begins with the introductions of Kureha Tsubaki and Sumika Izumino who are two students at a nearby high school.  Oh, and they appear to be lesbians.

“Nobody puts Sumika in a corner!”
