Super Recaps: Dragon Ball Z (Episode 204)

We’re back with another recap of the best season of Dragon Ball Z!  When we last left our hero, he had just helped Videl stop a new gang from taking root in Satan City!  Will they continue to work together to fight crime, or will circumstances tear these two apart!?  There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to keep on reading!!

The episode begins with Gohan on the hunt for his little brother Goten.  He eventually finds him hanging out in some giant nest.

“I thought this would be a pretty good hiding place.”     “Oh yeah?  How did that work out?”    “There’s a lot more sticky stuff in this shell than I expected.”

Super Recaps: Gotham (Episode 6)

We’re back with another Gotham recap!  In the last episode, we got lots of set up for the inevitable mob war between the Falcone family and the up and coming Maroni family.  Now it’s time to pay off all those stories that the last episode spent building up!  Oh no wait, we’ve got to do an episode about Bullock.  Sigh… okay then.

The episode begins with a creepy bald man putting on a lucha lebre mask.  I doubt it’s Bane though because the guy is kind of scrawny, and he calls himself The Spirit of the Goat.

“Would you fuck me?  I’d fuck me.”

Once again we find ourselves with another episode of Captain Boring’s Adventures in Crime City.  So the last episode was a bit of a disappointment when compared to previous episodes which have steadily increased in quality.  So was episode four the beginning of the end for this series having any hope of quality, or will this episode make up for what we saw last time?  There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to keep on reading!!

The episode begins with Bruce who is in desperate need of a hobby.

“Yes!  All I need is some red string and that’ll PROVE that the CIA shot Tupac!”

Gotham has been on a steady rise since it’s started, but it’s frankly taking way too long to get to what I’d consider “good” instead of “passable” or “mediocre.”  Will episode 4 be the one to ramp up the quality so that I can actually enjoy this show instead of just waiting for Penguin to show up?  Yeah… I doubt it too.  Still, there’s only one way to find out and that’s to keep on reading!!

The episode begins where the last one left off, with Gordon just about to crap his pants.  At least I think he is.  Gordon’s acting is just as non-expressive as ever, so it’s hard to tell.

“I’m so surprised right now.”

Super Recaps: Sailor Moon Crystal (Episode 10)

Another two weeks, another episode of Sailor Moon Crystal!  It’s been rough for the last few episodes, but the last one ended on such a high note that I couldn’t wait to see this one!  Does this one continue to push the series in a positive direction, or will it fall back on old habits that have made the show less enjoyable at times?  There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to keep on reading!!

The episode begins just as the last one ended where Luna is proposing a trip to the moon.  They can’t go until the full moon though, so the gang is preparing for their trip to outer space.

Don’t try to make sense of this.  It’s only going to confuse the audience.

We’re back with another recap of Gotham!  I wasn’t a big fan of the pilot, mostly because it was never clear what kind of show it wanted to be.  Did it want to be a comic book show, or a cop drama?  It’s not even like it was trying to be a mix of the two, rather it kept flipping back and forth in a way that made the tone incomprehensible and just ended up sapping almost any enjoyment I could get from it.  That, and the guy playing Gordon acts like a giant piece of Bologna.  All that said, can the show improve upon the pilot?  Let’s find out!!

Super Recaps: Sailor Moon Crystal (Episode 8)

We once again find ourselves with a brand new episode of Sailor Moon Crystal!  Will Sailor V finally become a member of the team!?  Will Usagi learn that she can still throw a punch if someone grabs one of her arms?  WILL LUNA STILL HIDE STUFF FROM THE SCOUTS FOR NO REASON!?  Let’s find out!!

The episode begins where the last one left off, namely with Sailor V about to kick some Dark Kingdom white boy ass!  Everyone is shocked to see her pop up including Beryl who’s watching the whole thing go down on her Wicked Witch of the West Crystal Ball (Limited Edition of course).

Uh… seriously?  I mean, there are already four of them.  Is it SO hard to believe the fifth one would show up at some point?

Super Recaps: Sailor Moon Crystal (Episode 7)

We’re back with another episode of Sailor Moon Crystal!  The last one ended with quite a bit of intrigue involving Tuxedo Mask and Usagi’s relationship, as well as the introduction of Sailor V as a character in the ongoing story.  Let’s see how well they can work with these new elements as the story begins to expand in its cast as well as its scope!

The episode begins with Usagi waking up in Mamoru’s bed and realizing that he is Tuxedo Mask.

“I mean, it’s not like your mask actually covers your face.  They’re only slightly bigger than Clark Kent’s glasses.”

You gotta feel sorry for Warner Bros sometimes.  In 2008, they ruled the world with The Dark Knight, but since then Marvel has been dominating them at the box office.  Even their 52 reboot, while good in the short term, ended up being a flop among the fans.  The one area they’ve had a bit more success has been in television, with Green Arrow becoming a surprise hit, and a new Flash tv show on the horizon.  That said, how does their dip back into the Batman well work out?  Is it a hit for the shaky DC empire, or is a spectacular failure?  There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to keep on reading!!
