Welcome back to the show you all hate and will sorely miss when the season is over! ADMIT IT!! YOU ALL LOVE THIS SHOW!! Anyway, we left the last episode on quite the cliffhanger with mere inches separating our heroes from total annihilation. The show has been on quite a roll recently (that or I’ve acclimated to its sub-par standards) and with only two episodes left, I can only hope they pull out all the stops. I mean, we’re STARTING the episode with the possible extinction of all of existence!! I mean, it’s not like the dude’s going to SUCCEED, but it’s going to be interesting to see how they can pull themselves out of this mess! Let’s get started!!

The episode begins with Prince Demande mere moments from destroying the universe by touching the two Legendary Silver Crystals together. Naturally, everyone is freaking the fuck out and hoping they can develop super speed right now so they can stop him!

Super Recaps: My Little Pony season 5 (Party Pooped)

We’re back with another chapter in Twilight’s Saga to become the Princess of Friendship! After last week’s summit that had mixed results, she’s trying once again to prove her political prowess by inviting Royalty from a reclusive kingdom to the city of Ponyville! So is this going to be a theme this season? Is the show going to be the adventures of The Princess of Friendship trying to navigate the complicated world of Pony politics? Equestrian House of Cards if you will? I’m totally up for it if that’s the case! Now the last episode was pretty heavily flawed, what with Spike continuing to be short shrifted by the writers, but this episode will at least have the benefit of Twilight not being unconscious for the majority of the running time. Can she do a better job than Spike did? Will her presence make this episode all the more enjoyable? Let’s find out!!

The episode begins with the Mane 6 getting things ready for the diplomatic visit and Twilight stressing out over it. Okay, so right off the bat I guess she doesn’t know what the heck she’s doing! That or she’s still having trouble managing the pressures of being a Princess.

Super Recaps: My Little Pony season 5 (Princess Spike)

We’re back with another episode of Syndication is Magic! After reaching the 100^th episode milestone last week (seriously; if this show is huge on a no name channel, imagine how big it’ll be if Cartoon Network picked it up!?) we seem to be heading back into business as usual for the season. While we have gotten some highlights like the season premiere and the 100^th episode, things haven’t been as good as they should be for the series what with a bunch of filler episodes and unrealized potential. Not only does that have this episode going against it, but it’s another Spike episode which tend to be a mixed bag for me. Still, the last time he was the focus of the story was the very good Equestria Games, so maybe the writers have figured out how to write this character well and we’ll get another solid episode this time around. Let’s find out!!

The episode begins in Canterlot where the four princesses are holding a summit for the entirety of Equestria. I guess that means everyone’s going to put on a good show of peace, get a bunch of photo-ops, eat lots of fancy food, and accomplish absolutely nothing.

Super Recaps: Sailor Moon Crystal (Episode 24)

Welcome back to another episode of the most critically panned revival of a beloved nineties anime until the new Dragon Ball show gets released! What? Am I the only one expecting that? Anyway, the last episode of Sailor Moon Crystal was pretty shaky but ended up going out on a high note and leaving us with a lot of expectations of where this episode will go. With Chibi-Usa going full villain last time around, will we get the epic punch up between mother and daughter that we’ve all been waiting for, or will we be let down again by one of the most uneven anime in history!? Let’s find out!!

The episode begins with everyone gathering in the middle of the wasteland to discover that this new adversary is none other than an all grown up Chibi-Usa (calling herself Black Lady) with a massive chip on her shoulder.

Super Recaps: My Little Pony season 5 (Slice of Life) The 100th Episode!!

We’re back from the show’s three week hiatus with the ONE HUNDREDTH episode of the series! Did anyone think it would get this far? Well yes actually. I mean we’ve got two spin-off films and a theatrical movie coming out soon. This gravy train is gonna keep going until the wheels fall off, and even then they’ll find a way to milk it even further. Still, it seems like the creators are taking this episode VERY seriously and want to make something that is truly memorable for the fans who have kept this series going for so long. Is it a well done celebration of the show’s past and a hopeful look at the future, or is it a bad sign of things to come as the show slowly begins to lose relevance and creativity? Let’s find out!!

Super Recaps: Sailor Moon Crystal (Episode 23)

After another three week hiatus (will we ever escape the consequences Pope Gregory XIII’s evil invention!?) Sailor Moon Crystal has returned with a lot to live up to. The last episode was a great mix of compelling story beats and bombastic action that gave me hope that this story arc would manage to NOT descend into utter chaos like the previous one did. With Chibi-Usa’s recent turn to the darkside, the show definitely has a lot to work with in terms of both storytelling and epic confrontations, but this series has also been known to drop the ball when it had plenty to work with. Will this episode continue steering this storyline into the right direction, or was the last episode the last gasp of quality before everything descends into mediocrity and outright awfulness yet again? Let’s find out!!

The episode begins with Usagi finding out that Mamoru and Chibi-Usa have wandered into the time dimension wasteland thingy and haven’t returned since. There’s currently a storm blowing through there (because of reasons) and Usagi is told that even under good conditions that searching through the never ending miasma of time and space is a suicidal endeavor. Usagi calmly considers the pros and cons of her situation and then decides to search through the never ending miasma of time and space.

Super Recaps: Cutie Honey the Live Episode 2 (Hostess Club Blitz!)

We’re back with everyone’s favorite adaptation of questionable source material! When we last left our hero, she was fighting for her life against one of the leaders of Panther Claw and was about to receive the killing blow! The first episode was decent enough as pilots go, but now that they’ve sold us on the idea of what this show could be, they have to make good on that potential. Does this episode meet those expectations and give us something worth watching, or is the novelty already wearing off this soon? Let’s find out!!

The episode begins with Cutie Honey continuing her life and death struggle against the Panther Claw dude with the feather hand. At the last minute, good old Hayami shows up with his car to provide Honey with a perfect escape!

We have another map episode and I can’t be more excited to hear it! The last time they were sent on a quest, they battled the evils of communism and fought back against a cult leader! Will this episode be just as good, or will the adventure this time around be a step down from what we saw in the season premiere? Let’s find out!!

Season five has been trucking along for a while now and it’s been mostly good but still doesn’t feel like it’s reached its stride just yet. Will another appearance by the one and only John de Lancie be what this season needs to get going, or will yet another episode about Discord prove that even a character as dynamic and interesting as him can eventually be overused to the point of diminishing returns? Super Recaps: Sailor Moon Crystal (Episode 22)

Sailor Moon Crystal, as predictably as the tides, had started going downhill in the second half of its story arc. With lots of great set up and interesting characters to fight the Scouts, it looked like things had started to turn around for the show after the disappointing ending to the Silver Millennium story line, but once the Scouts were taken away and we got to the future (where there’s pretty much no one to care about), it started to look grim once again for this series. Still, the show had Chibi-Usa who has been a consistent bright spot so far, and the way the last episode ended gave us some hope that things were at least going to escalate in an interesting and meaningful way as we approach the end of this story. Will this episode make good on the promises of the the last episode, or were we just getting set up once again for disappointment? Let’s find out!!

The episode begins with Chibi-Usa being tempted to join Wise Man and feel the POWER of the Dark Side!
